| Job Summary | The Evergreen State College seeks to create a pool of adjunct faculty able to teach in the Native Pathways Program on the Olympia campus. The program serves upper division students. Native Pathways students typically enroll for 12 credits in the Program which combines weekly evening off- site classes and weekend classes at Evergreen’s Longhouse four times each quarter. Adjunct faculty teach some of the weekend 2 credit courses in a variety of different subject areas. Specific areas of interest to the College include the following: Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis to fill curricular needs. These are adjunct faculty positions and are not eligible for continuing appointment. All requirements for these positions must be completed at the time of hire. Salary for all positions is based on experience and degrees (see http://www.evergreen.edu/facultyhiring/salarygrid for more information). We do not offer relocation expenses for our adjunct faculty positions. The core courses for 2017-2018 are Tribal Administration (Fall), Ethics for Tribal Vitality (Winter), and Profiles in Leadership (Spring). In Fall 2017 the Saturday classes are September 30, October 21, November 11, and December 2. Two credit courses for the Saturday classes vary and are designed to broad the student’s academic experience. Applicants in this adjunct pool will be considered for open positions for these Saturday courses. The College reserves the right to extend searches or not offer positions advertised. As a condition of employment, persons hired must provide proof of identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of beginning work. All position offers are contingent on funding. Persons with disabilities can receive accommodations in the hiring process by contacting the Faculty Hiring Coordinator. The Evergreen State College is an equal opportunity employer. |

Faculty are generally responsible for evaluating 25 students/quarter, though their programs may include up to 50-75 students, depending on the size of their teaching team. This arrangement allows for in-depth, interdisciplinary and experiential learning, and the building of strong learning communities.
